January is the time for plotting out your social calendar if you want to "clay well with others." (The image is from the newsletter of the Philadelphia Guild who are sponsoring their own Clayathon in January.)

There's the fabulous bead show in Tucson from January 21 to February 16 and simultaneous To Bead True Blue classes (warning…the site is very frustrating but if you scroll long and hard, you'll find some great classes with polymer clay teachers like Ronna Sarvas Weltman, Christi Friesen, Janet Farris) and an extensive exhibitor list.

Or if you want something more intimate and earthy visit Klew's 8th Bi-annual Polymer Retreat on Memorial Day weekend. Want something warmer? Try the Florida guild's Florida in February.

Check with your local guild for more classes and conferences…there are many at this time of year.

If you missed this weekend's e-newsletter, be sure to sign up for it in the column at the right. I'll try to make it a monthly feature this year and you won't want to miss it.

Hi all. The exhibitors at the To Bead True Blue show include some of my favorite polymer artists who do really astonishing work — when I’m not teaching I’ll be shopping and ogling the beautiful wares. I’m thinking of organizing a Polymer Clay Meet-Up! on the 30th in between my two classes since I’ll already have the classroom rented. Please email me or leave a comment here indicating your interest, and if we have enough I’ll get something put together. I’m thinking casual — brown bag it or order up from the restaurants there, talk poly clay, share our poly clay creations, rest our feet … Many, many thanks to Cynthia for this remarkable blog which does so much to elevate polymer clay and bring us together as a community.

I’m not sure if you know about this, but everyone should: The Orlando Area Polymer Clay Guild is hosting its 2d annual Florida in February, 22-26 February 2007. We’ll have six amazing artists giving classes: Donna Kato, Judy Belcher, Leslie Blackford, Lindly Haunani, Julia Sober and Kim Cavender!! More info at: http://www.oapcguild.com. Can’t thank you enough for all the cool things you find…

Cynthia, I meant to tell you how cool that newsletter was. Really professional, packed with info and fun too :o) Thank you so much for all you do!

Hi Ronna, I’ll be at To Bead True Blue, but only for the first three days of the show. I might not be able to get away until the evening for a get together… Can’t wait to meet you all!

          Barb
