Are their prohibitions against publishing pieces for the competition? I held off posting some of our guild members work on our site to be sure they didn’t get disqualified. I know sometimes one has to assure the piece was not published elsewhere including on the internet in order to qualify.

I know it’s fun to share, but … When judging art competitions, It’s easier for judges to be impartial if they don’t know who submitted the entries. Therefore it’s wise to keep pictures of entries out of circulation until winners have been chosen.

Julie’s site doesn’t say that these specific pieces are for the PnP exhibit, just that she is working on items for the exhibit. I don’t know if that helps the situation or not, I just thought I’d point it out.
I hope a lot of folks are planning on entering the competition – I think it will be especially good this year!

OH MY GOSH!!!
I just posted those pics this week, and did not in my wildest dreams imagine one would be featured here (cool as that may be!). And as a newbie to participating in formal competitions, I had no idea posting pics to my website was a faux pax – I interpreted “not previously published†as an actual publication such as a book or magazine. So I’d like to extend my sincerest apologies for any upset I may have caused, and also solemnly promise that in the event I get the nerve up to participate again, any designs will stay under top secret lockdown!

How’s that with the previous publication? I also thought that publication on the net would count as publication. But as for last year’s competition I was sure to have seen the winning entry of J Converse Sober on her website at least half a year before the competition started. I never mentioned that because I thought they meant only publication in print…Maybe I’m wrong
