Harriet: Yes, I sand most of my pieces to a glasslike shine. Some of them I coat with Kato liquid afterwards, what also gives a glasslike surface after heated with the heat gun. Thanks to all of you!

I'm a late bloomer - just started in March. :o) I'm not usually a fan of gloss, but your finishes look great - probably because you polished them well, instead of relying on the coat of gloss to make them *look* polished.
