Another move away from canes and colors. Here’s a polymer clay, waxed linen and acrylic paint basket by California’s Victoria James, her entry in the Great Basin Basketmakers show at the Nevada State Museum this month.
Pawing through Victoria’s site, I found the new website of the Clayville (yes, it’s a real place) guild and had fun looking at their members’ works and sites. A little Tuesday dalliance.

And I have to agree with Ronna about Peggy’s work – very yummy! But I also found myself drooling (once again) over Julie’s work too. Geesh, there are some terrific artists out there, aren’t there? Wow!

I barely made the deadline for the show, the basket has spent all it’s ‘life’ in a museum, I’ll be glad to have it home.
Clayville is indeed a wonderful guild. If I could find my copy of ‘Art and Fear’ I’d quote, but must paraphrase instead. In one chapter they talk about continuing and growing as an artist…. they say, that the best way to keep doing art is to find a group that shares your passion. Clayville is that, always full of inspiration and support !!!
