Yaaaay!!! I retired a little early in Oct2006. It is the most fabulous time. Every day I think “I can’t believe how lucky I am that I actually made it to this day feeling like I’m 40 and doing exactly what I want to do. Although I loved my job, I was ready for a new adventure. Just be ready to find out that there are so many things to do that sometimes you feel pulled in several directions…..but the good thing is, you can say no if you don’t feel like it….not like a job! I hate to say it’s the best time of my life because there have been so many “best times” but ya know what? It is!!!!! Congratulations!!!

Oh Cynthia, congratulations!! I am soooo excited for you! If you haven’t ever had the chance to be a full time artist, you are in for an amazing experience. You Go Girl!!
If you’re ever interested in some of my insights into the art of being a full time artist, I’d be happy to share. I’ve been self employed the majority of my life, and have been a full time artist (as opposed to a professional photographer) for about 5 years. So incredibly fulfilling!

Funny - by all the sharing you do with all of us out here in the polymer clay community, I thought you were already a full time artist/webmaster! I am so happy that you will be retired and diving full on into even more polymer happenings and doings!!! Thank you for your great daily posts, and Congratulations!!
Gee, how totally cool! I was laid off of work a few years back and despite the financial crunch it put on me I was so happy. I stayed home for 3 years, made soap, and art all day and it was great! I’m back at work now but, I long for the days and nights in my studio exploring and experimenting. I just don’t get those people who say, “Aren’t you bored and tired of being home all day doing nothing”? To them I say,” Get a life man”!
I can’t wait to see what wonderful works you will produce now that you will have dedicated studio time.
