Name West’s bio creation

Melanie West’s newest polymer clay life form needs a name. This undulating orange pod is the newest in her Bio series which has been inspired by nature’s extravagant forms, colors and patterns.

Perhaps this piece appeals to me because it looks like a psychedelic soft serve ice cream cone.

Click through the rest of Melanie’s flora and fauna inspired collection (plus her Trunkt gallery here) and help her name this baby.

Oh,you wily coyote Cynthia! I had just sat down to drink my morning joe and see what inspiration you had offered this morning and I end up looking in a mirror (metaphorically speaking that is). Zounds, woman, you are quick! Lol.

Thanks for the Tinapple Nudge, my dear. You are both wonderful and very kind. Now… I guess I better go update my gallery and Trunkt site! >.<

(PS – Right now I’m leaning toward Willendorf Monarch… but please DO keep sending your ideas. I can’t wait to hear what you guys come up with!)

      Thank you very much Cynthia!
To discover the work of Melanie is always a pleasure, I always keep(guard) an attentive ear for ” the crow which caws “!
Recently I compared her work with that of silverpepper23 who shows us miracles of another kind(genre), more decoration and less minimalist.
Two enchant me with their inspiration stemming from the Nature.
      Thank you!
      Bye for now!

I’m not sure what it is, but I like it.

Porifera Melaniana – a sea sponge discovered by Melanie West
I love all Melanie’s creations, they are so organic and unique, well made and designed. Collage this into a digital coral sea scene and it would be right at home in in a digital montage – or an exotic aquarium. Well, I love all these creatures, as I have a biological background too, just more botanical…

Gorgeous—makes me think of (blush) things I can’t mention in a public forum—If I had to name it, I’d say ‘fecund’.

                  Gorgeous!

How about Melting Cocoon Pod? To me, it looks like a particularly appealing and fabulously coloured slug 🙂

Fantastic! How about umber sea cucumber?

Great rhyme but the color isn’t quite umber–more like sienna, but that doesn’t work nearly as well: sienna sea cucumber. hmmm . . .

Whatever you call it, it’s so inspiring!

                    –Suzanne

Since Melanie says “zounds” fairly often, I think she should name something using that word. If not this piece, then a future one. Melanie’s polymer sets my head spinning. In a good way.

WOW! what great work you are doing! I have a lot of books with sea creatures and your new pieces could slide in there with out a problem! Do these new pieces have flat backs for pins or are they round like little sculptures? I must say, I am so jealous that I didn’t make these!! keep up the great work! Kelly
