Polymer chains by Carlton

Chains have gone through a transformation lately. The links are big and uneven. Shapes have changed. Sizes may be mixed and matched within a piece.

This Big Linx chain from London’s Debbie Carlton illustrates the point in polymer.

Debbie’s also a fan of the big bangle and you can see her work best on her Flickr gallery. The bangles were inspired by a workshop Debbie took with Seth Savarick.

If you like polymer chains, you’ll want to revisit Wendy Malinow’s version. And, come to think of it, there’s an ancient version I created in my archives. Guess I’ve been hooked on chains for a while. Escape your chains this weekend.

There is something in the air, I swear….I’ve been working on a similar kind of idea in polymer chain links. Great to see this here, gives me great encouragement to work through the idea. Lovely work Debbie!

The chain and bangle are spectacular. They would look great together.

Well done, Debbie, you have that knack of being able to take something, add your own inventive interpretation and create an entirely new look with it. I love the dotty big bangle. Keep at it! Mel x

Cynthia, Thanks so much for the posting, I cant begin to tell you how chuffed i was to see my images on PCD. Really brilliant. I had 500+ hits on my Flickr site which was amazing and some great feedback which is really encouraging as bangles and chains take ages to make.

I’ve started a blog ( not quite ready to tell the world about it yet) but PCD and http://www.metalclayacademy.com ( my 2 fav blogs in the world ) were my first post.

thanks again and to all who left messages

                    Hi Debbie

I have been thinking for a long time that your lovely jewellery should have been shown on PCD and so pleased it is here now! Taking part in one of your pc courses has been a big inspiration to me – thanks 🙂
Love the big link necklace too.
