Bottled polymer

by Cynthia Tinapple on January 23, 2013

It may not dawn on you that Joyce Cloutman has formed these polymer art dolls over bottles. They’re not the kind of bottles we’re used to seeing covered with polymer patterns. These blissful sisters cradle simple treasures in their hands.

Joyce is teaching this 2-day Bella Dona class at All Dolls Are Art (ADAA) in July in Austin, Texas.

In an interview Joyce talks about how important it has been to her to get together with friends and guild mates. Prompted by a magazine article she stumbled into sculpting and she hasn’t looked back.

I have long admired Joyce’s creativeness and been impressed with her talent for sculpting with clay. These two charming art dolls attest to both. They are wonderful.

Wonderful to see Joyce’s work featured here. And she herself is as warm and generous and full of creative energy as her dolls appear to be. Lovely.

We are so priveliged to have Joyce as a member of our guild….she is literally a ray of sunshine at every gathering.I have been begging her to send you shots of the three incredible creature she sculpted after Lesley and Wendy’s classes at CCLV…..they are nothing short of astounding. a fruitful meeting indeed! I was tickled pink to see where she had taken the instruction..and as always, her work was meticulous.
