Extrusions everywhere

Kellberg on PCDaily

Sherri Kellberg’s earrings from polymer extrusions jumped right out at me. They’re subtle, simple and clever and her site is full of similar examples with fine finishes (she offers a tutorial for that) and appealing color. This Florida artist also offers a tutorial for faux lampwork that is tempting. Here’s her Etsy shop.

I’m working on my Craftcast extrusions class for November 13. You know how when you’re focused on something you suddenly see it everywhere? Be prepared for extrusions this week.

Sherry, I’m really happy to see your work on this page! Well done and well deserved. I especially like the colour combination you’ve played with here.

Thank you Cynthia for featuring my earrings! I was so excited to see them on PCD. Your extrusion class for Craftcast looks very interesting, everyone needs to check it out. Extruding clay is addicting!

Sherri and I have been cyber friends for years but I’d never seen her work other than in photos so I finally ordered some pieces from her Etsy shop. It’s even more amazing in person. Absolutely beautiful and the finishing is perfect. This recognition is very well deserved!

Thank you Linda! Polymer clay is such a fantastic medium to work with, and extruding takes it to another level of creativity.

Very nice work Sherri. Your colors are deep and alluring. I really appreciate your finishing, being an avid sander myself.
Yes Cynthia, extruding is addictive and saves so much time. New ideas are popping up every where. The Kentucky/Tennessee Polymer Clay Group will be having an Extruder-Palooza at the 2014 retreat held at Mammoth Cave on the last weekend of October. We will share our extruder experiences and develop a collection of uses and applications.
Readers can get information from the Ky/Tn Polymer Clay Guild Facebook page as plans develop.

Thank you so much Ron! Yes, I have the tell-tale signs of sanding my pieces, No fingernails! I also enjoy my bench lathe buffer. My husband gave it to me for my birthday, and I love it!
I’m going to check out the Extruder-Palooza, sounds like great fun!
