Polymer beach finds

Niese on PCDaily

Sandra Deyoung Niese’s (DandyBeads) imitative beach finds look appealing on her Etsy site at this time of year. She lives in Michigan but her heart and her polymer designs live in a warmer climate.

This 2″ wire-wrapped pendant is painted with sea blue and sand acrylics and delicately distressed with sea urchin patterns.

If you need some sun and sand to brighten your day, look at Sandra’s beautifully wave-washed polymer pieces on Facebook and Pinterest. This one’s sold. I’m wearing a pretty piece of beach on a cord to ward off snow. It’s not working but I don’t care.

This is really beautiful. It has a great sense of balance. When I think of beach artists my mind goes to Tina Holden in Tofino, British Columbia. Her sea urchins are amazing. I think they would look great alongside Sandra’s work.

Now that I live close to the beach I find myself really drawn to this type of work. Sandra’s rich colors and earthy elements are all so well put together!

What a lovely voice Sandra has; very authentic. Love the color(s) she gravitates toward and how she puts her pieces together. There’s no doubt I’ve been to the beach if I wear one of her pieces!

Thanks ever so much- it’s such an honor to have my work featured and discussed. I am fortunate to be near the beach- just minutes away, but this time of year everything is covered in ice and snow, so I wanted to make something that reminded me of sun and sand! I love your site Cynthia, and I am humbled to be a part of it today! Thank you!!
