Early Lehocky

I went way back into PCD archives to pick out my 2020 Ron Lehocky valentine. This is an early Ron though I’m not sure what year. Maybe he can tell us. The background dots are black on color. They frame the dimensional heart whose dots reverse to color on black. It’s loose and carefree, probably […] Read more

Ron Lehocky boosted his tally of polymer hearts past the 23,000 mark this week, creating popular designs from scrap canes destashed from other artists’ studios as well as his own creations. At $10 per heart, you can calculate how much Ron has raised for the Kids Center in Louisville Kentucky. Click on the picture for […] Read more

Lehocky’s giving heart

It’s the season for giving and Ron Lehocky’s polymer clay work reminds us of what a commitment to giving can accomplish. As of September 30, Ron reached his goal of 10,000 polymer pins made to support the Louisville Cerebral Palsy KIDS Center. He met his goal in four years, a year ahead of schedule. This […] Read more

Lehocky tops 6,000 hearts

You may remember Ron Lehocky’s polymer clay heart project and he reports that heart sales are over 6,000. His goal is 10,000. But don’t think that Ron only creates heart-themed pins. He’s constantly experimenting and making new series of designs like this pendant inspired by a color class with Lindly Haunani. The flower design here […] Read more

Putting nature in polymer

These robin canes from New Hampshire’s Jayne Dwyer closely mimic what I saw outside my kitchen window this morning. Jayne has a grasp of figurative caning matched by few other artists. Her shading and depth keep getting better. Jayne generously sends her cane ends to Ron Lehocky, Ohio inmates, and others. The caned images are […] Read more

You gotta have heart

…miles and miles and miles of heart…as the song goes. Ron Lehocky had a table full of his hearts at Clay Out West. Even as Ron struggles through his own bumps in the road he plods on to reach his goal of 50,000 hearts to support The Kids Project. StudioMojo will focus on all the […] Read more

Luminous hearts

There’s a lovely luminosity about these most recent hearts from Kentucky’s Ron Lehocky. The gold dots popping through watery colored layers lead us to summer’s end. Because Ron builds his hearts from lots of others’ scraps, it’s hard to know the provenance of the bits and pieces he uses. His heart brooches are lovely collaborations […] Read more

Happy birthday hearts

Happy birthday USA from Kentucky’s Ron Lehocky on Instagram with an assist from another cane donation from Maine’s Jayne Dwyer. These hearts were made using Jayne’s donated canes. “She created a subtly shaded stripe pattern that was awesome,” Ron says. Have a terrific holiday!

A heart is born

You didn’t think PCD would get through Valentines Day without featuring Ron Lehocky, did you? Nope! The problem was picking one. Ron has photos of his avid collecters bedecked in his pins. They make perfect gifts for any occasion. This heart is just emerging from a great collaged sheet of veneer. For those of you who […] Read more
