As a guest blogger, I would like to direct your attention to an issue that affects the polymer community and to offer you the opportunity to have your opinion heard.
The manufacturers are grappling with many issues that center around reformulating polymer and bringing the best product to market. Your response to this comprehensive survey allows you to rank which issues are most important to you. With an accurate picture of our needs manufacturers may make products that suit us better.
Grab your favorite beverage and expect to invest 10 to 15 minutes of your time to answer 40 questions. The responses will be tallied and sent as one document to all the polymer manufacturers. Here’s the survey.
As a thank you for your efforts, you will have a chance to win an autographed copy of Terra Nova – Polymer Art at the Crossroads, released in conjunction with the opening of the Racine Art Museum’s exhibition. This special book has been signed by all the boundary-breakers! To enter the drawing, fill out the survey and comment on this post “I took the survey.” Then check next Monday to see if you won.
Editor’s Note: Congratulations to Carol Dotin, winner of this giveaway. Thanks to all who participated.

I am SO THRILLED that you wrote about these changes that have effected many artists. To have a professional such as yourself acknowledge the problem exists is such validation. I feel betrayed and ripped off by Polyform – after a long email exchange with Customer Service – then the lead chemist at Polyform, I was basically told I was imagining the change, that the solution to my problems was to leach the clay (which made my creations brittle, dull and useless). I have a few pounds of the “Bubble Yum” consistency Premo remaining. I have yet to find a decent technique within my “styles” in which to use this stuff.
The one successful method I have found is to soften some incredibly hard Fimo with it. Any other recommendations?

Took the survey! What a frustrating time I’ve had since the change in formulas and the loss of colors. Nice to vent it a bit here. Sure hope it helps. Thanks Lindly (and others) for your efforts with this.
Alisa R. ,
I took the survey. I overlooked one question and couldn’t figure out why clicking “done” kept taking me back to the start. LOL!

“I TOOK THE SURVEY”
Just want to say what a great in depth survey this was – I hope the manufacturers take some notice of the results. I would be really interested to know the results, hopefully they will be published somewhere?

I look forward to the day when I can open a new block of clay and actually predict what its consistency will be. Although it will rob me of some fun because I find it soooo funny saying that the consistency is so inconsistent!
