UK’s Helen Cruickshank shows her love of cats in this project for a Valentine’s Day fundraiser (Colchester Caring for Our Cats Fundraising). She created one design of a cat in a heart shape and repeated it using a variety of veneers and canes.

Her way of repeating designs is perfect for those of us who quickly tire of making the same thing again and again. February 1 is Groundhog Day you know (the movie popped into my head).

Ever the clever girl, Helen has just published her second book, Polymer Clay for All Seasons, which contains a menagerie of 13 delightfully varied projects.

Just imagine the tiny purrs of these little guys from Oregon’s Kerri Pajutee. This one’s an Egyptian Mau. She sculpts miniatures in polymer in 1:12 scale and uses natural fibers to give them their coats. The entire process from inspiration to the final scissor clip is tedious, exacting, and time-consuming. Kerri is widely collected.

Her little creatures bring outsized pleasure. A scroll through her Instagram is guaranteed to lower your blood pressure. How does she do it?

We tracked these reclining miniature animals through a link from France’s PolymereandCo magazine’s Instagram site. We agree that Atelier Kitsune’s animals deserve a closer look. These resting animals inhabit a perfect world where they are safe and sound.

The blended colors of the polymer figures are then carefully drawn on with white paint. There’s something very soothing about these curled and content figures.
