The problem is not your monitor, there really are bugs in the system and they’re polymer from Jana Lehmann. You can watch these beetle brooches escaping from their cute little boxes.
Jana’s work is consistently the most graphic and the tidiest I’ve encountered. There’s considerable sanding involved and lots of attention to detail.
Her polymer-covered pens always appeal to me with their shapely Skinner-blended bodies and their whimsical tops. Just for fun, I’m offering five of the wooden pen bases that Jana uses as a giveaway today. I ordered a bunch from the German supplier (Bettina Welker delivered them) and they’re fun to try.
Make a comment and you’re automatically entered. I’ll announce a winner tomorrow.

Jana, I always love your work. It’s so recognizable and really appeals to my design preferences.
Awesome, I have to grand nieces that are going to love these! Not like anything else I have seen, unique and beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing.
Very cute!
Actual bugs tend to squick me out, but these polymer versions are charming!
I maintained several insect collections when I was a kid. Beetles were my favorites. Seeing these, I could be inspired to mount a few polymer bugs into a cigar box for old times sake. As to the pen giveaway, thanks for your generosity.
Jan those little bugger are so cute!
Hi, Cynthia, from a fellow Ohioan. Never miss your posts unless I have no access to a computer. Thanks for keeping us abreast of what’s going on around the world of polymer and of Samunnat.

I love :)) These are so cute
Thank you, Cynthia! Last year I was short of time to create my own polymer things and quite a few people were wondering if I still work with polymer clay. I’m still in, I just made a book (it will be released in july but it’s only in german). The bugs were the first things I made after that and I’m so happy you featured them here, you can’t imagine. And thank you for all the nice comments. It’s like a warm Welcome back, it gives me motivation to keep working on new ideas.
I’ve done pens before, but never on wood ones. It would be great to try. And I LOVE the bugs!
I am impressed with the perfection of the ergonomics and the impeccable work, and the colors are pleasantly playful!

Dana Truitt ,
They are so adorable, I could make a pendant outta one , the 2 more for matching earrings and 5 or 6 to connect to make a bracelet. Add some swarovski crystals, bicones, n pearls to me a gorgeous set with mtching hair pins, like two.
