Iris Mishly and her collaborator, cake decorating artist Sharon Peled, have teamed up to address an overlooked artform. Though lifelike flowers made from sugar and synthetic clays are popular in many area of the world, they’re just catching on in the US and Europe.
Iris and Sharon call their tutorial set The Flower Academy. Their course covers 20 types of polymer flowers that end up in 40 final projects including bouquets, boutonnieres, headbands, and jewelry.
To give you a taste of the content, watch the academy’s free video on how to make lifelike mistletoe (in time for the holiday season).
Iris and Sharon are offering one FREE online version (Silver Set) of the academy to one lucky PCD reader. Leave a comment and you’re entered. Comments will close on Thursday night with the winner announced Friday.
Deb Hart ,
Wow! They really are stunning! What a fabulous idea. Great work Iris & Sharon!
Lovely bouquet, so realistic.
It would be nice to win this.
Wow, beautiful!
I would love to make such flowers and win the Silver Set !! 🙂
Pat Thielman ,
Love to see ‘crossover’ crafts, taking insiration from different techniques. Brilliant. I also would love to be the winner!
Beautiful…absolutely beautiful.
Margit Boehmer ,
Beautiful flowers, looking really realistic, well done Iris and Sharon, would be happy to be the winner….
Quite original, amazing detail. This must be the most extensive flower guide in polymer ever made; there are quite a few for air dry clay or sugar, but those don’t of course solve technical issues related to PC, nor do they offer such variety of projects. You were very inspired Iris indeed. Well thought out and well made!
Would indeed love to see the whole thing.
These are stunning!! They would be great to make for hospital or long term care patients!! I would be honored to win and learn.
Vicky Seixas ,
I’ve been working on flowers and leaves, and these are beautiful, so I’d love to learn some new techniques!
Beautiful flowers. I watched the mistletoe video – it was very well done. I am very impressed and intrigued by this series!
Wow, the flowers look good enough to stop and smell the sweetness. The mistletoe video is very good and easy to follow. Thanks for bringing this to PCD.
Helen Rolf ,

Ann Duncan Hlavach ,
Fabulous!
I’d love to be the winner! Just beautiful.
This would be a super tutorial to win, and share with our clay guild MHPCG, in Denver, at one of our Retreats!
I wish I had seen their fabulous flowers before I helped with a wedding a few years ago.
This is a lovely idea and creates beautiful lifelike flowers. I would love to make a small bouquet of my wedding flowers (from 20 years ago!) – roses, jasmine and stargazer lilies. I can see lots of opportunities for jewellery making too. I would love to be entered into the draw – what an amazing prize!
Best wishes and good luck to us all

What beautiful flowers! And what a beautiful way to use our ever-versatile clay! I love the flowers and would love to make some with the help of the tutorials!
Candice Bishop ,
My background in cake decorated made the transition to polymer clay flowers exceedingly easy. If you want another source of flower inspiration, you can check out Nicholas Lodge- he has plenty of sugar flower tutorials that should work perfectly for polymer clay as well 🙂
Lovely work by Iris and Sharon <3

wonderful. They look so real.

Wow, they look like the best silk flowers you can buy. The detail is incredible.
I love flowers and would love to learn how they make them.
Gorgeous. I especially like the ball bouquet. And such detail in the mistletoe video. I really think I could do it!
This looks like another great tutorial, one which I would love to own. I can never afford the cost of these tutorials but if I could, I would certainly buy this one.
I’m always amazed (and humbled!) at the talent and creativity of polymer clay artists. I have been looking for tutorials for realistic-looking flowers to make for my mother. In the days when I lived with her, she would make beautiful things out of found objects. Just recently, I showed my nieces the roses she made years ago out of egg cartons and they were in awe of her talent. I would love to show my nieces how to make these lovely clay flowers so that they can present them to their grandmother so that she will know their love for her and see that her gift of creativity has been passed on. Thanks for the opportunity to win this lovely tutorial.
I am a real novice in the polymer clay art world. The flowers are absolutely beautiful. My efforts remind me of summer camp! I aspire to one day create art in polymer clay as you have.
Awesome flowers! Thanks for the freebie!
Alena Chrasta ,
I am out of the academic world for quite a few years, but I would happily study in the flower academy for sure!
Making realistic looking flowers from polymer clay is my passion! I made a Gardenia for I mother and she wears it as broach.
