Dustup
True to its character, this polymer clay chameleon from Doreen Gay-Kassel blended right in with the other files on my desktop. How lovely to rediscover it. Doreen (we last visited her in July) says she's got some other new works to be posted on her site soon so check back…

Back and Front
I love it when polymer clay pieces are as interesting on the back as they are on the front and these new pieces from Judy Belcher don't disappoint. Hollie Mion brought these gems and lots of pictures home from the national Shrine Mont conference. Judy doesn't have a web page…

So very sorry to hear this news, however her legacy lives on in all the lives she touched like mine. I will never forget the words of wisdom she passed on in her business for artists class. Such a huge warm smile and great sense of humor. She will be sorely missed.

I’m so sorry to hear about this. My favorite polymer quote is from Judy: “Even crap is beautiful tessellated.” She wasn’t wrong. Rest in Peace, Judy.

What sad news! I am very sorry to hear that Judy is no longer with us. Her talent, her good humour, her humanity are irreplaceable. One of the greatest is gone. I will drink a toast to you dear Judy. Sit tibi terra levis, Judy!
Oh, no. ? Along with Kathleen Dustin and Bettina Welker, Judy was one of my first favorite polymer artists. I feel so bad for her family and fans, but I’m trying to console myself by reminding myself how lucky we are that we got to “know” her through the ether. She’ll live on in her works and in our hearts. If her family and loved ones are reading this, please know how grateful we are that you shared her with us!

Jeffrey Dever ,
This is so sad for anyone who encountered Judy. Whether a close personal friend or a mere acquaintance, she made everyone she met feel valued, and a smile or hardy laugh usually followed. The polymer clay world owes her so much for her years of leadership and generous sharing with us all. I personally owe her much as early in my polymer life she often passed my name along to other groups, artists, or galleries helping me build a crucial network. I’m so sad for her beloved children Maria and Max whom she loved deeply. Her face would light up when asked about them, or sharing a story of her family. The world has lost one of the genuinely good people in a world where there are too few. RIP dear friend.
