Traditional polymer

South Carolina’s Lynda Moseley ushers in the season with some lovely vintage holiday transfers on polymer. Her collection’s theme is loosely based on historical traditions from around the world.

Lynda admits that her designs are sentimental. “When I was a teenager, my grandmother gave me a crosstitch pattern book which had different Christmas traditions in it and I recreated them all and put them on our tree. My mother still puts them on her tree and has every year for the last 35 years,” she says.

Here’s a sneak peek at her holiday collection. Do you have traditions that tug at your heartstrings and affect your designs?

Lynda’s work is always so perfect. I love her admission of sentimentality, too. It’s what makes Christmas what it is!

Seven years ago we moved into our house one week before Christmas. It was a zoo with phone service that didn’t get set up, a flooding dishwasher and boxes as far as the eye could see. Christmas eve came and in utter desparation I made Christmas taco claiming the red and green peppers were festive. The next year I was ready to do things right. I laid out the menu and my son looked at me broken heartedly and said, “But mom how can we have Christmas without the Christmas tacos?”. A tradition was born and each Christmas eve we now celebrate with Christmas tacos. Long live improvision that becomes tradition! Deb
