Wendy Moore comes back online with a splash on PolymerClayDaily.com

While most of us are squirreled up at home, Australia’s Wendy Moore (after_the_monsoon) comes back online with a splash.

Wendy’s been watching quietly from the sidelines for a while as she took a break. Now she’s collaborating with Dissonance Fashion and creating new work inspired by Helen Breil and Bonnie Bishoff. Wendy’s resurgence shows us the value of taking time off!

Of course, her heart is never far away from the ladies of the Samunnat Nepal project that she has nurtured since 2006. Welcome back to good health and polymer, Wendy.

Tubular trends

Spain’s Mons Ferrer (Bisuteria Creativa – Fi-Mons) brought tubes home from a class with Lucy Struncova. She’s been making and arranging them into pendants ever since.

With an assortment of diameters, lengths, colors, and patterns, they stack up into geometric tubular art to wear.

String theory

Jan Montarsi updates his pearl/inks recipes into a new String Theory on PolyerClayDaily.com

Ohio’s Jan Montarsi has updated his pearl mix tutorials with this String Theory pendant. I found it here from 2013 but the tutorial has disappeared.

Not to worry, Jan has come up with even better inks/pearl clay mixes for a luminous effect. Plus, he makes some very good tools for precise quilt pattern cuts here.

You’ll have to fill me in on the name behind Spain’s Bisuteria Creativa (fi-mons). All I know is that Valentine’s Day is approaching and her slightly wonky hearts speak love to me. You too?

Her simple circles are delightful. Everything is stripped down to its essentials. Pure, simple and totally trendy.

Jeff Dever’s winter blossom on display

Maryland’s Jeff Dever’s work gives us another mid-winter pick me up.

Jeff hand rolled over 150 petals in nine different hues and mounted them into the center blossom of his Eden’s Promise necklace. It’s surrounded by two dotted leaves and strung on a multi-strand cable.

The necklace was juried into the prestigious Wayne Art Center International Juried Exhibition of Fine Craft and will be on display in Wayne, PA until February 1.

Dad’s ties in polymer

Olja brings silk ties to polymer on PolymerClayDaily.com

These pieces from Germany’s Olja (@olgasmodeschmuck) look like men’s silk tie patterns.

There’s something very buttoned-down and crisp about the blue gradations intersected by gold lines. The bail is made from the same clay.

The polka-dotted element loosens up the tight geometry.

I couldn’t find much info on Olja. Care to comment with some details or links?

Winter white

Germany’s Eva Thissen has moved to tone-on-tone flowers and birds for her latest series of pendants and earrings.

Eva finds that in stark white, the flowers and bird relief looks flat so she settled on this cream color. You have to move in close to see the exquisite detail on her small monochrome jewelry.

Eva calls herself an illustrator and considers these polymer illustrations. More illustrated goods on Etsy.

Australia’s Dani Rapinett offers this Floating Dots class in her Whimsical Bead store.

Ok, so there’s not much chance that most of us will make it to class but that doesn’t keep us from admiring the happy multicolor mix and wondering how she made it.

Was Dani thinking of the maps on her car’s dashboard when she created these? They make us think we’re going on an adventure!
